(p)          Data are provisional until the end of the financial year as train operators may revise data submitted to ORR.

Notes:
1.       Caledonian Sleeper operates the franchise for anglo-scottish sleeper services which was separated from the ScotRail franchise on 31 March 2015. The data for previous quarters has not been revised in the light of this change.
2.       TfL Rail operates the Crossrail franchise in Greater London, the East of England and South East England. It commenced operating on 31 May 2015, on the Liverpool Street to Shenfield route, and will expand in stages to operate the full Crossrail network by 2019. The data for previous quarters has not been revised in the light of this change
3.       Govia Thameslink Railway was a new franchise established on 26th July 2015. It was formed by the merger of the previous franchises of Southern and GTR (previously First Capital Connect). A small number of services and stations were also transferred from the Southeastern franchise on 21 December 2014. A consistent time series has been established through merging these earlier franchises into one combined total.
4.       Merseyrail provide their Non Lennon passenger kilometres data covering 6 months at the end of quarter 2 and quarter 4. Hence their data for quarters 1 and 3 are estimated figures and should be treated as provisional.
5.       On 1 April 2016, the new Northern and TransPennine Express (TPE) franchises commenced operation with services between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North/Barrow-in-Furness and between Oxenholme and Windermere transferring from TPE to Northern. The data for previous quarters has not been revised in the light of this change.
