Rail Statistics Management Group
ORR chairs the Rail Statistics Management Group (RSMG) and its aim is to ensure that our data meet stakeholder needs and are of good quality. The terms of reference set out the vision for rail data and how we will deliver our aim and vision.
The RSMG meets quarterly and is made up of a number of member organisations. Current members are:
- Department for Transport
- London Travelwatch
- Network Rail
- Office of Rail and Road
- Rail Delivery Group
- Rail Safety and Standards Board
- Transport Focus
- Transport for London
- Transport Scotland
- Transport for West Midlands
- Welsh Government
The RSMG is made up of lead statisticians or data specialists that have responsibility for the production and use of rail data in their respective organisations and the group discusses potential improvements to rail statistics. The National rail trends (NRT) stakeholder group is now part of the RSMG.
