Workforce and non-workforce safety

These charts show the figures of how many injuries occurred on the railways in Great Britain in the last year. We publish these figures annually by person type (passenger/public and workforce) and by type of injury, including fatalities.

Public injuries include injuries suffered by people that are neither a passenger or working on the railways. This category includes people who trespass for whichever reason.
